Olivier is the CEO of BlueStar, which he set up with the other partners in 2016. His career began in the trading room of Lemanik SA, Lugano, in 2004. Between 2005 and 2006, he joined the founding team of Casa4Funds SA in Luxembourg, where he held the position of COO and risk manager. Since 2006, he has been active in the field of asset management, first as fund manager with Banca del Gottardo and BSI (2006-2010), subsequently as portfolio manager with Podium Wealth SA, Lugano, (2010-2013). In 2013, he moved to SWM SwissWealth Management SA, Lugano, as fund manager.
Olivier graduated in Economics at University College London, and has a Master’s degree in Finance and Economics from the London School of Economics. He is also a CFA charter holder.
Federico started his career in 2013 as an analyst in the TMT Investment Banking team at JP Morgan in London. Since September 2014, he has been employed as a credit analyst at Compass Asset Management SA in Lugano, where he became a fund manager in 2019, managing several strategies with a focus on global credit, of both developed and emerging markets. He joined the BlueStar team in September 2024 as a fund manager specialising in the bond sector.
Federico has a Master’s degree in Finance from Bocconi University, Milan. Additionally, he completed Corporate Finance exams at University of California – Irvine and is a CFA charter holder.
Massimo launched his professional career as a summer intern with Zurich Capital Markets London in 2001. From 2002 to 2008, he worked as an equity and derivative products trader at MBI SA, Lugano. In 2009, he was recruited by Onelife Advisors SA, later Onelife SA, Lugano, as co-advisor for the specialised fund in life sciences. Since 2015, Massimo has specialised further in the field, becoming a senior analyst for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies. As a result of the cooperation between Onelife and BlueStar, in 2018 Massimo was appointed manager of Onelife Fund.
Massimo graduated in Economics at Bocconi University, Milan.
Mario co-founded BlueStar, as a partner, in 2016. He is responsible for the Investment Strategy and Research area. He launched his career in 2000 at Banca del Gottardo, Lugano, int he role of financial analyst in charge of the technology and defence sectors in the US market. In 2003, he was put in charge of the US stock market within the wealth management team. He sat on the bank’s investment committee. In 2008, he was appointed head of classic mandates in the wealth management team at BSI, Lugano. In 2009, he joined Veco Invest SA, Lugano, as head of wealth management
Mario graduated in Political Economy at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan, and later obtained a Master’s degree in Economics and Finance from Università Federico II, Naples. He is also a CFA charter holder.
Having co-founded BlueStar with the other partners in 2016, Juan is in charge of the Institutional Portfolio Management area. He launched his career in 2004, as portfolio manager and fund selector in the wealth management unit at Banca del Gottardo, Lugano. Between 2008 and 2013, he held the positions of portfolio manager and client advisor in Podium Wealth SA, Lugano. Later, he moved to SWM SwissWealth Management SA, Lugano, as head of asset management, where he also supervised the management of UCITS investment funds.
Juan graduated in Economics, with a Master’s degree in Finance at Università della Svizzera italiana, Lugano.
Michele started his career in 2021 at BNP Paribas as a Corporate Credit Analyst, before moving to the Global Markets division at Unicredit AG and later at Credit Agricole CIB in London, specialising in the European Fixed Income market. In 2023, he joined NatWest (RBS) Capital Markets team as Financing Sales, supporting the origination activities for funding and financing products for financial institutions in Southern Europe. In 2025, Michele joined BlueStar as a Junior Portfolio Manager.
Michele graduated in Economics of Markets and Businesses and holds a Master’s degree in Banking & Finance both from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan.
